Kid-friendly destinations in the USA

In this article

Without a doubt, the USA is a fantastic destination for a holiday and there are so many different places you can choose from. If you are looking at places where your kids will have a trip of a lifetime then there are plenty of kid-friendly destinations to try. Here are a few of them:

San Diego

Home to one of the world's best zoos, San Diego has some great attractions for the kids to enjoy. There is also the Aquatica San Diego Water Park, Model Railroad Museum, SeaWorld,
Legoland and the zoo's Safari Park. Those are just a few of the children's attractions that you will find in San Diego.

Orlando

Orlando is the theme park capital of the world and therefore is ideal for kids and the dream holiday for many families with kids of all ages. There are theme parks that are perfect for younger ones, as well as the bigger ones like Universal Studios that is great for the older kids (and adults) too.
You can get a pass that will give you access to many of the theme parks, so you can visit one each day or every other day for example.

Yosemite National Park

There are numerous wonderful national parks across the USA with lots of great kids activities to enjoy and Yosemite is one of the best. Being out in nature is an amazing experience for children, especially with somewhere with so much natural beauty like Yosemite.
You can choose to camp and get even closer to nature, perfect for introducing your kids to the wonderful world outside of their electronic devices if you have been struggling to get them off the internet! You can go hiking, rafting, see all kinds of wildlife and visit the stunning waterfalls.
San Francisco
California's San Francisco is filled with exciting adventures for the kids from jumping on one of the famous cable cars, to taking in a game of baseball at Oracle Park. Of course, the main attraction is the Golden Gate Bridge, which is fun to cycle across if your kids are old enough. Another famous part of San Francisco is Alcatraz, which you can visit and educate the kids on the history of the former jail.
Pier 40 is worth a visit too, with loads of restaurants, cafes and shops and if you’re lucky you might even get a good view of the sea lions from here. The boat trips around San Francisco Bay are pretty spectacular and are the best way to see the
whole of the Golden Gate Bridge. There is also a Madame Tussauds that the kids will enjoy finding waxwork models of all of their favourite celebrities including stars from the music industry, sports people and actors. There is also an Alcatraz themed Escape Room which is great fun.
Before you book your family trip to the United States, you need to arrange travel authorisation such as an ESTA to enter the US. Make sure that you apply foryours before you are due to fly.
